Monday and Tuesday, October 1st and 2nd, World Relief Atlanta and 50 Cents. Period. are hosting a screening of the documentary "Half the Sky" at the Clarkston Community Center. The PBS documentary will screen in two parts each night at 9 PM, but the event will also feature drinks, hors de'oeuvres, popcorn and prizes. Get your tickets here NOW! More information after the jump.

"Half The Sky" by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn started out as a book and has turned into a movement. By turning oppression into opportunity, women all over the world are being seen, heard and empowered. The documentary film inspired by this book and movement will be screened on PBS October 1 and 2 at 9 PM EDT.

Who: 50 Cents. Period. and World Relief Atlanta have teamed up to launch a vital health education program called The Women's Circle for refugee women in the Clarkston area. By educating, energizing and empowering women, The Women's Circle prepares families from developing communities for social and economic success.

What: We will be hosting guests to view the film, learn more about The Women's Circle, and enjoy an evening of drinks, hors de'oeuvres, popcorn and prizes. Each night will feature different parts of the film, so come for both! On night 2, we will be showing an exclusive interview with Nicholas Kristof prior to the screening.

Why: All contributions will help us reach our goal of providing feminine hygiene products and health education to every refugee woman at World Relief Atlanta in 2013.

How Much: The Suggested Donation for Tickets is $15. Bring a pack of Pads to enter the door-prize raffle!
